Question 2

How do I use each medication?

Accepted Answer

Estradiol cream
Applied to the skin once daily, usually the inner thigh or forearm. Rotate where you put it, let it dry before you get dressed, and wash your hands after. Avoid skin-to-skin contact with anyone else until it is absorbed.
Oral progesterone
One capsule at bedtime. It makes most people drowsy, which is why it is dosed at night rather than in the morning. Take it consistently — it is protecting your uterine lining, not just helping you sleep.
Vaginal estradiol cream
Inserted with the applicator that comes with it. Usually nightly for the first two weeks, then a couple of nights a week after that. It works locally, so it treats dryness and urinary symptoms directly without much reaching the rest of your body.
Your exact dose and schedule come from your clinician and will be on your prescription. If anything about the instructions is unclear once your medication arrives, message me before you guess.

Question 3

What would rule me out of hormone therapy?

A licensed clinician reviews your full history before anything is prescribed, so this gets answered for you specifically. But the histories that usually rule out systemic estrogen are:
Current or previous breast cancer, or another estrogen-sensitive cancer
Vaginal bleeding that has not been explained yet
A history of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack
Active liver disease
A known clotting disorder
Pregnancy
Some things are not automatic no's but change the conversation — migraine with aura, significant cardiovascular risk, or starting more than ten years after your last period. Those get weighed individually rather than ruled in or out by a list.
Vaginal estrogen is a separate question. Very little of it reaches the rest of your body, so it is sometimes an option for women who cannot take systemic hormones. That is worth asking about specifically if the list above applies to you.
This is not a complete list, and nothing here replaces the review. Bring your history to the consultation, including anything you are not sure matters. The conversation is free and it is the right place to find out.

Do I need labs?

Only for testosterone. A panel is required before you start, again within the first 90 days, and annually after that.Estrogen and progesterone require no lab work at any point. These therapies are dosed to how you feel and how your symptoms respond, so labs aren't a hurdle between you and getting started. If you'd like them anyway, we're glad to draw them.All draws happen in our office. Testosterone panels have to be collected between 7 and 10am, so those are morning appointments.Have a full panel from the last 12 months? Bring it to your consult and we'll see what we can use.

What is the 90 day follow-up?

This applies to testosterone protocols. If you're on testosterone, we recheck a maintenance panel within the first 90 days of starting, then annually after that. It confirms your levels landed where we want them and that everything else still looks good.Estrogen and progesterone don't require a 90-day panel. Those are dosed to your symptoms, so the check-in is a conversation rather than a lab draw.Either way, we talk about how you're feeling and adjust if anything needs adjusting. Draws happen here in the office.

Do I have to come into the office?

Only if you want to, or if your plan needs a lab draw. Everything else — intake, clinician review, prescriptions, refills — happens through the portal, and your medication ships to your door. You can always schedule a 15 minute consultation, in person or on the phone.

What's included in the monthly price?

Your medication, shipping, and the clinical care around it: your initial consultation, monthly consultations, and any as-needed check-in when you want to talk through a dose or a side effect before you request a change.Pricing is flat. Moving up a dose doesn't change what you pay.Each hormone is its own monthly charge, so if you're on more than one, they're priced individually. Labs, when your protocol requires them, are billed separately.

Do you accept insurance?

Infuse is a cash-based practice. We don't bill insurance, which is part of how the pricing stays flat and predictable across every program.You can use HSA or FSA funds for most services, and most clients do.

Can I pause or cancel?

Any time. There's no contract and no commitment period. You can pause, delay a shipment, or cancel outright, either in the portal or by messaging me.Each hormone is billed separately, so you can stop one and keep the others. If you want to drop progesterone and stay on estradiol, that changes one line, not your whole program.One timing note: your refill goes to the pharmacy a few days before it ships, and once it has been sent, that month can't be pulled back. Let me know before then if you want to skip a month.And if you're thinking about pausing because of side effects or cost, message me first. Often a dose change or a different form of the hormone solves it, and that conversation is included in what you're already paying.
